Art Brut to play 2000 Trees Festival

Dearest Internet

Here in the bowels of AB Central we sit, shuddering over our electric word mats, dragging our gnarled digits over our frozen keypads in order to ensure all things Art Brut are pumped into your multiplying, swollen peep bags.

However, staff are occasionally permitted a glance through the iron grating and given a rare taste of the world above. This was a pleasure recently bestowed upon myself. After passing out several times due to the clarity of air and falling on occasions due to my vitamin starved limbs, I managed to glean a great many things from your green and pleasant land. Not least, in the Upper World there is not, as here, a perpetual, frozen darkness. There is a 'summer'. A short period of warmth and frivolity. A time when people may gather, drink and lie, strewn across the pastures of middle England.

For those who revel in this previously unknown nirvana, it looks like things are finally taking a turn for the better... Please cast a glance below.

ART BRUT AT 2000TREES!!

Following it’s nomination for “Best New Festival 07”, 2000trees will return bigger and better than ever on July 11th and 12th 2008; and after the recent line up announcement it’s looking like a veritable feast for both indie kids and rockers alike!

The 2000trees organisers were very excited to announce Art Brut as the Saturday night headliner joining the likes of Reuben, Frank Turner, The King Blues, Future of the Left, Imperial Leisure and The Ghost of a Thousand on a bill that is as eclectic as it is exciting. Festival organiser James Scarlett said “The most important thing for us is that 2000trees has amazing live acts; and from that respect Art Brut were always going to be the band that we wanted to headline our Saturday night. They’ve recently been named by Spin magazine as one of the top 15 live bands in the world, so it’s fair to say that we are pretty chuffed to have them on the bill!”.

James went on further: "For me 2000trees is about achieving a friendly and intimate festival experience and was conceived as a reaction to the huge corporate sponsored and impersonal festivals that routinely cram you in like sardines and proceed to rip you off at every opportunity! It may sound cheesy but we want to create something special and something different for UK music fans."

Sounds good to us! See you in a sunny field in July...
