We are all on strike for two days over our crap pay offer - ironically by losing two days pay it has wiped out the pay increase we were offered for many staff, thats how low it was - 2.4% of very little equals bugger all for the low paid staff in public servcies - the care home workers, cooks, cleaners, home helps
and refuse collectors

SO - REMEMBER FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS DO NOT CROSS A PICKET LINE, HONK TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND EMAIL THE GOVERNMENT TO GIVE US A PAY RISE - OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS OUR EFFICIENCY HAS SAVED £4.5 BILLION SO THE LEAST THEY COULD DO IS GIVE US A MEASLEY COST OF LIVING PAY RISE

I will now leave my soap box
your in solidarity

Mrs Argos

We had some very intersting comments -

one person shouted stop wasting my tax and get back to work - obviously unaware that when on strike you dont get paid…

We had ‘ I pay your fucking wages’ to which we retorted ‘well pay a bit fucking more then’

and ‘I’m not getting a pay rise you should be grateful’, from a women driving an audi tt - so we pointed out nicely that she probaly wasn’t on minimum wage being offered 20p an hour more for caring for sick and disabled peoples personal care needs...- it is costing staff more in petrol to get to work than the pay rise being offered

Hey Ho - we worked out that councils reserves have doubled to 11.5 billion in the last four years due to efficiency savings implemented by us, so I think they can afford it

But overall we had a lot of support, we had most supportive toots from white van men and ka drivers, and were very pleased at the amount of vistors and freelancers that refused to cross the picket line

Howling at The Moon played us a free gig and teh race equality council provided indian food, and lots of passers by bought us coffee and doughnuts, so all in all and interesting 2 days
